Should GM consolidate its brands and become Chevy and Cadillac?

I apologize if someone has already posted on this, if someone has, bear with me. If GM files for bankruptcy it should give them the latitude to consolidate without having to worry about prohibitive dealer contracts. Perhaps if the company concentrated on Cadillac and Chevy they could make a stronger, faster resurgence.
