pimg src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2008/12/60CDVWhite-RH_Rr_2.jpg" width="494" height="280" style="display:block;" /Welcome to a href="http://jalopnik.com/tag/down-on-the-street/"Down On The Street/a, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. The distribution of Cadillac model years seems a bit strange on the island; today's car is our emthird/em 1960 Cadillac coupe (after a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/down-on-the-street/1960-cadillac-sixty+two-coupe-270853.php"this gold one/a and a href="http://jalopnik.com/337045/1960-cadillac-sixty+two-hardtop-coupe"this red one/a), but the rest of the decade of the 1960s isn't represented until we get to 1969 (which is represented by four cars: a href="http://jalopnik.com/5062102/1969-cadillac-coupe-de-ville-convertible"this one/a, a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/down-on-the-street/1969-cadillac-calais-310700.php"this one/a, a href="http://jalopnik.com/384438/1969-cadillac-sedan-de-ville-with-bonus-cadillac-poll"this one/a, and a href="http://jalopnik.com/340949/1969-cadillac-coupe-de-ville-convertible"this one/a). Where are all those 1961-68 Cads?br clear="all"/p pbr img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2008/12/60CDVWhite-InteriorFront.jpg" width="804" height="603" style="display:block;float:none;" /br I found this car after our Czech friend a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/road-test/bobash-road-tests-the-1965-tatra-603-316038.php"BobAsh/a started shopping for a '60 Cadillac to ship across the water and a href="http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/936370348.html"found this one on Craigslist/a. Sure enough, it lives just a few blocks from my house, so I went over to check it out. It wasn't quite what BobAsh was looking for, but it's a solid rust-free car that isn't emtoo/em many thousands of bucks from show condition; anyone who wants to make an offer should contact the owner a href="mailto:finfanatic60@hotmail.com"here/a.br br img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2008/12/60CDVWhite-Frt_LH.jpg" width="804" height="519" style="display:block;float:none;" /br I've always preferred the '60 to the Cadillacs of the late 50s; you still get the big motorcyclist-eviscerating fins, but not as much gingerbread. New, this car sold for $4,892, about the same as a new Jaguar XK-150S and well over twice the cost of the '60 Chevy Biscayne two-door. Not that any car buyer who insisted on a Cadillac two-door would settle for a Chevy or some sort of emforeign/em car, mind you!br br script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" galleryPost('DOTS60CadWhite', 28, '1960 Cadillac Coupe De Ville Down On The Street'); /scriptbr br/p centerbr h2a href="http://jalopnik.com/5054558/350-old-cars-and-trucks-down-on-the-alameda-street"First 350 DOTS Vehicles/a • a href="http://jalopnik.com/397933/what-is-down-on-the-street"DOTS FAQ/a/h2 /centerpa href="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~at/st1ocCaFaGcpKWsdXIqCuAH1jKs/a"img src="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~at/st1ocCaFaGcpKWsdXIqCuAH1jKs/i" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare"a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=2XsoVrqK"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/jalopnik/full?d=120" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=A769X3e8"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/jalopnik/full?d=41" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=SvsC8Zbd"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/jalopnik/full?i=SvsC8Zbd" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=MDJiHy2i"img src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~f/jalopnik/full?i=MDJiHy2i" border="0"/img/a/divimg src="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/jalopnik/full/~4/VFWKZ4S3VXk" height="1" width="1"/
