Here's a well-preserved Malaise Cadillac for you./p pbr img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2009/01/77CDV_Hood_Ornament.jpg" width="804" height="498" style="display:block;float:none;" /br Malaise Cadillacs are extremely commonplace in junkyards; they sold in large numbers and were pretty well-made (by the standards of the time), so they've lasted a bit longer than their cheaper Detroit counterparts… but they're just not worth enough nowadays to be worth saving when an expensive problem crops up. That's why it's getting hard to find nice examples like this '77. We've seen a couple of Malaise Era Eldorados in this series (e.g., a href="http://jalopnik.com/357422"this '76/a and a href="http://jalopnik.com/299364"this '78/a), plus a a href="http://jalopnik.com/5089763"'79 Fleetwood limo/a, but this is our first late-70s Coupe de Ville.br br img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2009/01/77CDV_Green_Leather.jpg" width="804" height="603" style="display:block;float:none;" /br That's right, you're looking at emgreen leather seats/em in this baby! Nothing but the best for a Cadillac driver! The list price for one of these 180-horsepower creampuffs was $9,654, or about half the cost of a '77 Mercedes-Benz 280SE.br br script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" galleryPost('DOTS77CadCDV', 15, '1977 Cadillac Coupe de Ville'); /scriptbr br/p centerbr h2a href="http://jalopnik.com/5109665/400-old-cars-and-trucks-down-on-the-alameda-street"First 400 DOTS Vehicles/a • a href="http://jalopnik.com/397933/what-is-down-on-the-street"DOTS FAQ/a/h2 /centerpa href="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~at/VH0oWV_gMsM3Kp1AC9wrzZ3nb_4/a"img src="http://feedads.googleadservices.com/~at/VH0oWV_gMsM3Kp1AC9wrzZ3nb_4/i" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pdiv class="feedflare"a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=chwCsaMu"img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~f/jalopnik/full?d=120" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=ZxFYI8oQ"img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~f/jalopnik/full?d=41" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=pfAZJchE"img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~f/jalopnik/full?i=pfAZJchE" border="0"/img/a a href="http://feeds.gawker.com/~f/jalopnik/full?a=jHFo4aWE"img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~f/jalopnik/full?i=jHFo4aWE" border="0"/img/a/divimg src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~r/jalopnik/full/~4/4wSRgtctRtI" height="1" width="1"/
